All food business operators in India are required to register with the FSSAI in order to ensure that the food they sell is safe for human consumption. Based on the annual turnover of the food business, there are three different types of FSSAI license registration: Basic FSSAI Registration for businesses with an annual turnover of less than Rs. 12 Lakhs, State FSSAI License for businesses with an annual turnover between Rs. 12 Lakhs and Rs. 20 Crores, and Central FSSAI License for businesses with an annual turnover of more than Rs. 20 Crores.
